After the hackathon and boot camps in Nairobi, we embarked on a journey down to the coast via the blocktrain, on what was a maiden SGR experience for most, some left the Nairobi Terminus at 8:00am and others at 3:00pm, the important part is we all got to Mombasa and then down to Kilifi.
After a few complications with travel logistics with the blocktrain and the Mombasa to Kilifi drives, finding accomodation proved to be a pain point for those who hadn’t booked prior, being innovative minds in web3 though, this was fixed quickly and we all rested a bit ready for the conference.
It’s not everyday you go to tech conferences and spend your entire time there in shorts, walking on sand barefoot and get to interact with nature as you network and learn from the most brilliant of minds, the set up was just wow, everyone was left in awe.
BitLipa had speaker sessions with our Co-Founders Apollo and Theo taking on the stage for two days, our Customer Success and Brand Marketing guys set up our exhibition booth and started doing their magic there.
Attracting so much attention, we kept on engaging tons of people on what our product was, our vision, why we built it and what we do, in return, they signed up to our waitlist and expressed how bullish they were with our product. The conference came to an end on Saturday night with a set of 7 international DJs, 2 of them from our very own sister Company Ape Unit in Moritz and Miguel, what a night this was, what an experience the whole conference was!
